10th July 2016 Windsurfing: Hayling Island Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: 15 to 25 Surf / Sea State: 0.7 ft @ 17sec MSW Air Temperature: 17 Sea Temperature: 13 Weather: Drizzle then sun Max Speed: Distance Covered: Started on the 95l after walking upwind to find not enough wind on the bar. Nice waves though so got SUP out with sail. Awesome 90 mins picking out chest high sets. Backside riding was most dynamic, with top turns getting better as wind picked up. Taught me to open sail more clew first. Was now fully planning on the SUP, so 2 broad reaches back to get 95 again. Once back on the bar the wind dropped! Few minutes later it kicked back in. Great waves super clean and good size. Good top turns right in the pocket that 95l is so loose, even with 18cm in the rear. After almost 5 hours waves dropped off and I was knackered. |
